Tempory Job

I start work tomorrow on a two week tempory position. Better than a slap on the face with a wet fish. It’s going to seriously impinge on my training - it’s going to be a real shock to the system.

The 5k race on Monday was ace, I knocked 39s off my previous time, finishing in 18:10. I am flying at the moment but my calves are a bit tight after tonights speed session on the track. I was really pleased with the session though. With the ten miler coming up on Sunday I can afford to ease back a little during the next three days - plenty of time to recover.

Oh well, better start planning the bus timetable to get to work tomorrow.

Battle Of Sedgemoor 10K

I took part in the 10km race yesterday and what a race! I just knocked almost a minute and a half off my personal best time finishing in 37 minutes and 41seconds, which I can tell you is a massive chunk to take off in one go. Normally you hope to knock ten or maybe twenty seconds. I am so chuffed. It is my best ever race performance, achieving 28th position out of a field of over 300.

I have another race today! A 5km in which I am hoping to get another PB. I’m going so well at the moment, that I have added another race to the schedule, a 10 Mile race next weekend followed by my long time planned half marathon a fortnight later. If all goes to plan I will have set four PB’s at four different distances in the space of 4 weeks. Bring it on.

Final Bank Holiday of the year

Hi, I’ve been running really well of late. Now to put all my training into action. I have two races coming up; 10k on Sunday and 5k on the Bank holiday Monday. My calf muscles have decided to play up this week and still ache today but I think they will be ready for action tomorrow, where I hope to set a new PB.

Anyway, still unemployed but hey, who cares
